Secretary/Bookkeeper

Debbie Shelton

I joined Lake Tyler Baptist Church in 2008 and was hired as the Church Secretary & Bookkeeper in January 2009.  I have over 44 years experience in office administration, human resources, accounting and marketing. I also serve as Sunday School teacher of the College/Career Young Adult class. In the past I have served as a G.A. Leader, a Sunday School  teacher for 4-5 year olds, Women's Minstry Leader and I sang with the "First Light" Gospel Trio for over 12 years.

I work full time as the office manager and legal assistant at the law firm of Kent, Anderson, Bush. Frost & Metcalf. I have served in various positions including President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bylaw Chair and Membership Chair at the local, state and national level for the Texas CattleWomen, Inc.

My husband and I have been married over 45 years and we have 2 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

To relax from my hectic work schedule, I enjoy spending time with my family, singing, cooking, cross stitching, reading, gardening, and sewing. I love the Lord and seek to serve Him daily according to His will.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phillipians 4:13

Children's Director

Tina Kinney

I have been blessed to be a part of Lake Tyler Baptist for 14 years. I have spent the last several as the Childerens Director.

I spent 23 years working for State Farm Insurance until the birth of my special needs son in 2008. Little did I know what a blessing he would be and little did I know that God had an even bigger plan for me. I had always had a desire in my heart to work with children but with my job it was almost impossible to help with VBS or teach a Sunday School class.

A friend told me You don't find God's will , God's will finds you. God's will did find me and placed me in my current position.

I have had the opportunity to start several outreach programs for our children and have seen many blessings come from these programs. I have seen many children come to know Jesus as well as some parents. What a blessing this has been!

I work with a remarkable children's team and we are continually brainstorming for new and better ways to reach, teach, and attract children for God's glory.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
